No-Power Venue Sound Planning Guide
A lot of the most beautiful wedding venues around Charlottesville — barns, open fields, vineyard lawns — don't have reliable on-site power. That's not a problem for your sound, but it does change the planning.
The short version: we run the same PA systems off a generator instead of an outlet. It doesn't change the sound quality or the setup — it just means we bring power with us.
What to plan for:
- Tell us it's a no-power site when you book, not the week of.
- Generator noise and placement — we stage generators as far from the ceremony or dance floor as the site allows.
- Generator sizing — small (quoted after scope review) for a Ceremony setup, large (quoted after scope review) for bigger setups.
- Fuel and runtime planned around your full timeline, not just the ceremony window.
- A rain plan for the equipment, since no-power sites are usually uncovered too.
Real example: an ~80-guest outdoor ceremony with no power on site typically pairs our Ceremony package with the generator add-on — one of our most common bookings for vineyard and barn venues.
